ASPHALT SHINGLES
The architectural asphalt is the most popular and can have a lifespan of 25 – 50 years, depending on your choice of shingle, and if they are correctly installed. The lifespan can be shortened by severe storms, which is why you may choose to install a Class 4 shingle. The class 4 shingle has the highest hail-resistant rating possible. All have a Class A fire rating – the highest possible rating.
The asphalt shingles are cost-effective, long lasting, recyclable and maintenance free.
Designer shingles are available, but more costly.
Our recommended shingles are:
IKO Cambridge Class 1 shingle. The class 1 shingle is used in about 70% of replacement roofing.
MALARKEY Vista and Legacy Class 4 shingles. The class 4 shingle is becoming more popular as property owners seek more protection from storm damage. The Malarkey are made using industry leading rubberized asphalt for greater durability. The Legacy is Malarkey’s original Class 4 shingle, and heavier than the less expensive Vista. Both are excellent choices.

RUBBER SHINGLES
The EUROSHIELD shingle is manufactured in Calgary and is sold in 13 countries. It increases in popularity every year because of its long-life span. It is made from 70% recycled tires and 95% from recycled material. In addition to be environmentally friendly, this Class 4 shingle is durable, lightweight, maintenance free, and can last 50+ years, being virtually indestructible.
